ST SMART WORKING GROUP
We believe that community challenges are best addressed by community-led solutions. Work with residents, city departments, and law enforcement to identify community-driven solutions to our traffic safety issues. Participate in traffic safety and visioning workshops, arts projects, participatory design processes, bike skills training, free helmet giveaways, and awareness campaigns.
CURRENT PROJECT
ST SMART: CREATING COMMUNITY-DRIVEN TRAFFIC SOLUTIONS
This project, created in partnership with Walk N'Rollers and funded through a SCAG grant, includes school visioning workshops, public events, participatory design sessions and the creation and installation of a safety awareness mural at one of our most dangerous intersections.
On August 7th, 10am-2pm, ST Forward and Walk N'Rollers will be hosting ST SMART: Creating Community-Driven Traffic Solutions. Rather than relying on enforcement alone, we want to create an opportunity for local stakeholders to imagine, envision, and create their own traffic solutions. The event will feature interactive maps, activities, food, and booths at which community members can interface with their local leaders.
